‘Beware Boiúna’ Official Posters Devour Jimothy and All Your Favorite Viral Animals

Lionsgate will release the official trailer for Mike P. Nelson’s (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85Silent Night, Deadly Night) new giant snake horror movie Beware Boiúna tomorrow, and in the meantime they’ve unleashed a really fun series of character posters this morning.

But rather than spotlighting characters from the movie the way character posters traditionally do, these posters instead spotlight some of the internet’s favorite viral animals. Adorable raccoon Jimothy, Punch the Monkey, and baby hippo Moo Deng all get devoured by the giant snake at the center of Beware Boiúna for this poster series, which you can check out down below.

Beware Boiúna will release in theaters October 2, 2026.

Come on back here for the trailer tomorrow, August 13.

Kiana Madeira (Fear Street) and Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day) will star in the upcoming creature feature, with the cast also including Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade).

Beware Boiúna is set against the backdrop of Brazil’s Curuçá River in the present day. When a team of young doctors embark on a local humanitarian mission through the Amazon rainforest, it soon becomes clear that not everyone – or everything – is happy to see them. Their arrival draws the attention of an ancient predator, the Boiúna.”

“This ancient killer, dominant on land and water, clashes to reclaim the jungle. The ensuing fight for survival blurs the roles of hunter, prey, and hero.”

Tony Giglio wrote the script with Alan B. McElroy (Wrong Turn).
