Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 actor Skeet Ulrich is going back to his villainous Scream roots in psychological horror movie Deify, which Deadline reports will also star Neil McDonough (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, Ravenous).
Set to shoot in Chicago, Deify follows a cult leader who is put on trial after causing his devoted followers to be burned alive.
Ulrich will play the “enigmatic and manipulative cult leader, who pleads insanity and claims to be taking his commands directly from God.“
Opposite is McDonough as ” the assistant attorney general and prosecuting attorney, a man of integrity who profoundly believes in the criminal justice system.“
Brothers Carmelo Chimera & Nicholas Chimera will direct from a screenplay by Nicholas Chimera.
The cult horror movie is inspired by the Waco massacre in 1993, the siege that saw law enforcement enter a lengthy standoff with the religious cult Branch Davidians.
Jordan Gianeschi (The Crow) and Jacob Rice (As I Lie Awake) produce the pic along with Mike Manning (Eyes in the Trees). McDonough and his wife Ruvé McDonough are exec producers.
