Scott Mescudi in Ti West's 'X'

Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi (Ti West’s X) is gearing up to unveil his feature directorial debut, Doe, soon but is already returning to the director’s seat for his follow-up, promising gnarly horror ahead.

On Saturday, the two-time Grammy winner revealed over social media that Doe, his intense drama about addiction, will premiere next year. But he also revealed that he’s entering production on his “gnarly” horror thriller follow-up very soon.

After sharing details on Doe, he writes on X, “And my next film, is a horror/thriller. Lot of laughs, but its fuckin gnarly. I am a firm believer in mixing horror with comedy. So I incorporated that into it.”

No plot details as of yet, but that may come soon as Mescudi is already gearing up to enter production very, very soon.

“I shoot my next film in a few weeks and I’m so fuckin hyped,” he wrote on X. “Sometimes I cant believe this is all happening. Officially a filmmaker. Get ready. Next year we introduce em to writer/director Cud.”

As for when we can expect his horror feature? Mescudi added in another post, “Two movies in a year. Both very different from the other. Doe, my directorial debut, will premiere next year, and my next film will premiere in the late summer.

That’s a lot of horror on the way from Mescudi, who is also starring in Adam Egypt Mortimer’s Pathetic Fallacy with Jessica Rothe and lending his voice to animated feature Slime. The musician turned filmmaker also previously revealed plans to helm a horror romance, When the Light Dies, though it’s not clear as of yet whether that’s the project going into production in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned for more as it arrives.
