Julius Avery (The Pope’s Exorcist, Overlord) will direct the upcoming python survival horror movie Crush for 20th Century Studios, and the film has now found its leading lady.
Sarah Catherine Hook (“The White Lotus”) will lead the cast of Crush, Deadline reports.
The survival thriller is said to follow “a woman hiking alone in the Everglades who wakes to find herself trapped in the crushing coils of a massive python, fighting to stay alive as every breath brings her closer to death.” Inspired by true events, Crush is said to take place in real time.
John Fischer wrote the screenplay that 20th Century Studios picked up amid a bidding war.
Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will produce for Temple Hill.
Scott Glassgold’s 12:01 Films is also attached to produce.
Stay tuned for more on Crush as we learn it.
While you wait, another snake horror movie is headed to theaters this October. Mike P. Nelson directs Beware Boiúna, which sees a colossal ancient predator awaken deep in the Amazon.
