The infamous Lizzie Borden is headed back to the screen in Netflix’s upcoming “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story,” which will premiere on September 17. The high profile series from creator Ryan Murphy is the latest in a long line of television series and movies to explore the legend of Lizzie Borden, and it’s not even the only new Lizzie Borden project headed our way this year.

The story of Lizzie Borden, accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1892, has been the subject of various movies and television shows over the years. In fact, a new indie horror movie titled The Lizzie Borden Game just released this year, and Christina Ricci played Borden in Lifetime’s The Lizzie Borden Chronicles in 2015.
