‘The Night Driver’ – David Arquette, Josh Lucas & Alyssa Milano Star in Road Stalker Horror Movie

From director Jeremy Weiss, the new horror movie The Night Driver is set to premiere at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival, and Deadline has shared the first look image (above).

Josh Lucas, David Arquette, and Alyssa Milano star in The Night Driver.

The film follows Hurdis Jones (Josh Lucas), a traveling pharmaceutical salesman who is desperate to return home to his wife Cheryl (Alyssa Milano) and family after surviving a run-in with a psychotic killer, only to be stalked relentlessly by him across the country and framed for several murders along the way.”

Here’s the full synopsis from the festival: “One night in the middle of the country, traveling salesman Hurdis Matheson drives down a dark stretch of highway when he accidentally hits a long-haired stranger. The stranger survives, but is badly wounded. Hurdis agrees to drive him to the hospital. As they drive, he realizes something is wrong with his passenger.

“Before he knows it, The Stranger becomes violent and attacks him. A couple of days later in California, Hurdis’ wife, Cheryl Jones, begs her old friend Detective Hank Granger (David Arquette) to help find her husband. She hasn’t heard from him in two days, and suspects something happened to him. Granger agrees to help but becomes entangled in a bigger case with the FBI regarding Hurdis Jones. They suspect he is a serial killer on a rampage, leaving a trail of homicide scenes across the country. Meanwhile, Hurdis is running, driving, and speeding to get home. But everywhere he turns, The Stranger stalks him. He can’t seem to lose him.”

The Night Drives promises twists and turns, and it’s compared to High Tension and The Sixth Sense.

John Cork wrote the screenplay for The Night Driver.
