David Arquette Joins ‘Scarpetta’ Season 2

David Arquette has been cast in Prime Video’s crime thriller series “Scarpetta” for a recurring role in Season 2, Deadline has learned.

That means we may get to see the Scream king share the screen with Halloween icon Jamie Lee Curtis for the first time!

Other new additions include Jodi Balfour, William Zabka, Stella Baker, Kim Dickens, Troy Garity, Jerod Haynes, Michael “Killer Mike” Render, and Holland Taylor.

They join returning stars Curtis, Nicole Kidman, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Ariana DeBose, Rosy McEwen, Amanda Righetti, Jake Cannavale, and Hunter Parrish.

Based on Patricia Cornwell‘s bestselling novels, “Scarpetta” is developed by showrunner Liz Sarnoff (“Barry,” “Lost”). It premiered in March and garnered 34 million viewers in its first 28 days.

The first season’s dual dual narrative explores Kay Scarpetta’s journey from her beginnings as a Chief Medical Examiner in the late ’90s to her present-day return to her hometown, where she resumes her former position while investigating a grisly murder.

As Scarpetta pursues justice, she must navigate complicated relationships, including the fraught dynamic with her sister Dorothy Farinelli confront long-held professional and personal grudges, and face secrets that threaten to unravel everything she’s built.

Amazon MGM Studios and Blumhouse Television produce the series in association with Blossom Films, Comet Pictures, and P&S Projects.

“Scarpetta” Season 2 started production last month in Nashville.
