Mena Suvari (Vampires at the Velvet Lounge), David Arquette (Scream franchise), Belle Shouse (Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), and Alberto Rosende (“Shadowhunters“) are set to star in empty nester horror thriller Homesick, and Deadline reports production kicks off tomorrow.
Homesick centers on Dr. Abby Morrison (Suvari), “a compassionate physician whose carefully built life conceals a secret she has never shared with her husband. With their daughter away at college, Abby and husband Gordy (Arquette) are settling into life as empty nesters when the arrival of a mysterious young woman (Shouse) shatters their sense of safety.
“As an unsettling encounter spirals into a nightmare, the couple must fight to protect each other in a home they can no longer trust.“
Todd Slavkin (“Coven Academy“, “Shadowhunters“) is directing from a script written with longtime writing and producing partner Darren Swimmer.
Arquette is currently on tour with Scream for its 30th anniversary and stars in The Night Driver, which made its premiere recently at Screamfest. Suvari has also been keeping busy in the horror sphere. The actress currently appears in season 13 of “American Horror Story” and recently wrapped production on the psychological horror Kill Me Now.
