Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil has continued to perform at the box office these last several weeks, and it’s now available for you to watch at home on Digital.
The new chapter in the iconic survival horror franchise is available to purchase for $24.99 or rent for $19.99, and, to celebrate, Fandango has debuted the first 10 minutes of the film that you can watch below.
Austin Abrams (Weapons) stars as Bryan, a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in a non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos. The first 10 minutes set up a nonstop survival horror ride that sees Bryan dodging all sorts of mutated monsters across a snowy Raccoon City.
To say that Bryan is unprepared to deal with the outbreak is an understatement, as the opening sequence makes clear.
Zach Cherry (“Severance”), Kali Reis (“True Detective: Night Country”), Paul Walter Hauser (“Black Bird”), and Johnno Wilson (“Twisted Metal”) round out the cast. Cregger directs from a script he co-wrote with Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapters 3 & 4).
I wrote in my review, “Resident Evil is full of surprises, Abrams’ unlikely screw-up chief among them, as well as potent scares. Cregger’s most straightforward feature yet may also make for his biggest crowd-pleaser, one that leaves its audience gasping and laughing in equal measure.”
Resident Evil is ‘R’ rated for “strong bloody violence, gore and language throughout.”
If you missed it in theaters, the highest-grossing installment in the RE film franchise is now available to watch at home. Resident Evil will then head to 4K USD, Blu-ray & DVD on December 29.
