‘American Dollhouse’ – Christmas Horror Movie Coming This January from Dark Sky Films

Following in the wake of its premiere at SXSW earlier this year, the holiday horror movie American Dollhouse has been picked up by Dark Sky Films and set for release early next year.

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know, “Dark Sky Films has acquired U.S. rights to the horror thriller from writer-director John Valley, and plans a theatrical release in January 2027.”

The Christmas-set psychological horror film is said to deliver a modern riff on classics like Psycho and Black Christmas, which paved the way for the slasher classics of the 1980s.

It follows a woman who inherits her childhood home, seeking solace from a chaotic city life marked by addiction and debt. Unbeknownst to her, a psychotic neighbor becomes disturbingly obsessed with her due to a haunting resemblance to the neighbor’s deceased mother.

As the fixation turns violent, her friends begin disappearing one by one, drawing her into a perverted, blood-soaked Christmas nightmare she may not survive.

Hailley Lauren, Kelsey Pribilski (Man Finds Tape), Tinus Seaux (The Pizzagate Massacre), Danielle Evon Ploeger (Last Girl Standing), and Richard C. Jones (“Love & Death”) star.

John Valley (The Pizzagate Massacre) writes and directs American Dollhouse.

“I wanted to create a story that deconstructs the false narratives we tell ourselves about ‘home’ and ‘family,’ all within the context of a blood-soaked genre film,” Valley previews in a new statement this week. “Bringing American Dollhouse to audiences with Dark Sky Films is an incredible opportunity to share this nightmare of a ride with horror fans across North America.”
