A couple of weeks ago, I posted “Turbo Killer”, the latest video from retrosynth wizard Carpenter Brut. The visuals and music collided into an explosive video that is one of my absolute favorites in recent memory and I still find myself watching the video once very couple of days (at least). Because of this love, I figured I’d check out some of the other videos Brut has to offer. And boy oh boy did I find a perfect little doozy for the Twisted Music Video of the Week series in the form of “Escape From Midwich Valley”!
Directed by PH Debiès, the video is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Shadow Over Innsmouth” and is wonderfully produced, looking like a professional short film one would find in a film festival. Much like how I want to see a feature length version of “Turbo Killer”, I’d also be thrilled to see a feature film of this video. It’s got the style, it’s got the atmosphere, it’s got the visuals, and it’s got the heart.
