About a month and a half ago, we introduced you to “Pretty Lavinia”, a character in American Murder Songs, the new project from Terrance Zdunich (Repo! The Genetic Opera) and Saar Hendelman (The Devil’s Carnival series). What many might not know is that this character is based off Lavinia Fisher, who many claim to be America’s first female serial killer.
The reason I bring all this up is because Arch Enemy frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz has been locked to portray the character in, “…a new, bloody music-film hybrid project.” You can see a glimpse of her in character below.
Direct from the official press release:
As the one of the most recognizable female faces in metal, Alissa smolders in this first glimpse of her as Pretty Lavinia Fisher, America’s first female serial killer. As Pretty Lavinia, Alissa steps into the shoes of the historical outlaw who ran an infamous inn outside of Charleston. There, she purportedly lured, poisoned and robbed wealthy patrons.
White-Gluz joins previously announced American Murder Song collaborators Sara “Chibi” Taylor of The Birthday Massacre and Goth personality Aurelio Voltaire. No word yet on when the video will see its release.
The group’s first EP Dawn is available now through their official website.
