On July 4th, NASA’s Juno spacecraft will be entering the orbit of Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system. It’s a mission that has been in the making for nearly five years, having launched on August 5th, 2011.
Today, a trailer was released to let people know what’s going on. In that trailer, you’ll hear the music of none other than composing duo Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, who also composed The Social Network and Gone Girl. The track, aptly titled “Juno”, is over 8 minutes meant to mimic the giant planet. The track is described as, “…deeply cinematic — from its feverish atmospherics to its chains of glassy melody to its haunting textures, which sound like the surface of some distant planet must feel.”
