New Smashing Pumpkins Video for “Solara” Has Lots of Familiar Horror Imagery
Yes, that’s a hulking Jason Voorhees rocking a feather boa.
The Smashing Pumpkins are back, and ahead of embarking on a reunion tour this Summer, the band released new single “Solara” earlier this month. Today, a video has arrived.
In the official music video for “Solara,” Billy Corgan walks around looking like Pinhead (minus the pins), seemingly in a strange psychiatric facility that he manages to escape from. Outside, the world is full of as many crazies as there are inside the facility, including a little girl rocking a Hannibal Lecter mask and a jacked up dude in an Executioner’s mask.
Creepy mimes. A nightmarish animatronic bunny. A dude with ants crawling all over his body. A death metal band frying a fish. This oddball video has it all…
