At Long Last, Tool Will Release Their New Album This August!

Almost exactly one year ago, Tool teased the first piece of music off their forthcoming new record, the first since the 2006 release of 10,000 Days.

Now, just days after performing two new songs, “Descending” and “Invincible,” at Welcome to Rockville, the band has officially, officially, officially announced an August 30th release for their brand new album. It is one of the most anticipated of the year.

As noted by Loudwire, during the intermission of last night’s (May 7) show in Birmingham, Alabama, a video screen displayed the text “August 30”. The band’s official Twitter account then confirmed it, breaking the internet.

The site also notes that official profiles also recently appeared on music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, indicating that one of streaming’s longest holdouts may finally release their catalog for digital consumption.

Last year, Tool frontman James Maynard Keenan released his new A Perfect Circle album, Eat the Elephant.
