Corey Haim Cut From ‘Lost Boys’ Sequel?
One of the most anticipated DVD releases in a long time is Warner Premiere’s Lost Boys: The Tribe, which arrives at retailers on July 29th. We just finished watching the film, which was directed by P.J Pesce (who also makes a cameo in the film), and made a pretty interesting discovery regarding Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. For the news, read on, but we aware that this contains a major spoiler.
MAJOR SPOILER ALERT
To read the story, highlight the text below:
In LOST BOYS: THE TRIBE, Corey Feldman was set to make his triumphant return to the franchise as Edgar Frog, while Corey Haim would return as Sam Emerson. While Feldman makes appearances throughout the entire pic, Haim was nowhere to be seen. When the final credits roll out, the last name listed is Corey Haim – then the screen goes black. This is when you finally get a glimpse at Emerson and we get a clip of him going head-to-head with Frog. The end sets up a sequel, but also confirms what was shown on “The Two Coreys”. It appears that Haim’s character was cut from most of the film, which is a damn shame – although maybe it’s not considering how terrible it was. Watch for a review soon.
This sequel takes us to the shady surf city of Luna Bay, California, where vampires quickly dispatch anyone who crosses their path. Into this dark world arrive Chris Emerson (Hilgenbrink) and his younger sister, Nicole (Reeser). Having just lost their parents in a car accident, the siblings move in with their eccentric Aunt Jillian and become new prey for the locals’ way of life. When Nicole unwittingly falls for a local vampire, Chris must locate and destroy the gang’s lifeline before his sister’s transformation is complete; to do this Chris finds himself relying on the expertise of none other than Edgar Frog (Feldman).

‘Backrooms’ Heads Home to Digital Next Week
Are you ready to go back?
After a record-breaking box office run and an extended cut re-release, A24 and director Kane Parsons’ Backrooms is heading home to Digital.
Backrooms will be available to rent or buy this Tuesday, July 14.
In the film, Chiwetel Ejiofor stars in Backrooms as the owner of Cap’n Clark’s Ottoman Empire, who discovers a strange doorway in the basement of the furniture showroom. He sets out to explore the mysterious, liminal space, walking headfirst into a creepypasta nightmare.
Renate Reinsve (A Different Man) also stars in Backrooms.
Will Soodik wrote the screenplay.
I wrote in my review, “Backrooms is at once complex and sparse, but never repetitive. It might be set in 1990, but it effectively captures modern anxieties and isolation in a way that frequently makes your skin crawl. While the journey ultimately loses steam by its cryptic end, Parsons’ visual representation of the human psyche disturbs like no other.”
YouTube prodigy Kane Parsons makes his feature directorial debut based on his creepypasta-inspired video series, which debuted in 2022 and has amassed over 190 million views to date.
