‘Shelby Oaks’ – Mike Flanagan Executive Producing Chris Stuckmann’s Horror Movie

Shelby Oaks

After breaking records and raising over $1 million on Kickstarter, YouTube critic Chris Stuckmann is making his feature directorial debut with horror movie Shelby Oaks, which we haven’t heard any updates on for a bit now. Today brings a pretty exciting one, however.

Deadline reports that horror master Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, “The Fall of the House of Usher”) has come on board the upcoming Shelby Oaks as an executive producer. Flanagan, Trevor Macy and Melinda Nishioka of Intrepid Pictures have joined the team.

Shelby Oaks is currently in post-production, so we expect to hear more soon.

“Intrepid’s films and TV shows have inspired me for years, and it’s a dream come true to work with Mike and Trevor on my first feature,” said Stuckmann. “I’m ecstatic beyond words to partner on the release of Shelby Oaks.”

“For a film that had such a hard time getting going, it’s remarkable the doors that then opened to us,” said Paper Street Pictures producer Aaron B. Koontz. “The success of our Kickstarter followed by the on-going leadership and guidance from Mike, Trevor, and Melinda is beyond anything I could have hoped for.”

The cast for Shelby Oaks will include Camille Sullivan (Hunter Hunter), Brendan Sexton III (Don’t Breathe 2), Michael Beach (If Beale Street Could Talk), Robin Bartlett (Shutter Island), Keith David (The Thing), Charlie Talbert (The Big Short), Emily Bennett (Alone With You) and Sarah Durn (Where the Crawdads Sing).

So what is Shelby Oaks about, you ask? Here’s the synopsis…

“Shot as a traditional feature, but with some elements of found footage, Shelby Oaks is a horror film about missing paranormal investigators (the paranormal paranoids), the dark legacy they uncovered, and the far-reaching effects their investigation has as Mia searches for her sister Riley, the lead paranormal investigator, 12 years later.

“As Mia uncovers new and disturbing leads related to Riley’s disappearance, she uncovers evidence of a hidden supernatural evil dating all the way back to her and Riley’s childhood.”

Stuckmann wrote and will be directing Shelby Oaks for Paper Street Pictures.
