Confirming reports from last week, Sony has officially closed deals with Zombieland producer Gavin Polone and helmer Ruben Fleischer to return for a 3-D sequel to the original, which cost $24 million and has earned $85.2 million worldwide to date. The Culver City studio is currently in talks with stars Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg to reprise their roles as a pair of post-apocalyptic survivors. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are working on the sequel’s screenplay. In the first film, Columbus (Eisenberg) has made a habit of running from what scares him. Tallahassee (Harrelson) doesn’t have fears. If he did, he’d kick their ever-living ass. In a world overrun by zombies, these two are perfectly evolved survivors. But now, they’re about to stare down the most terrifying prospect of all: each other.
