Having just watched E.T. and Jaws for the upteenth time, I couldn’t help but wonder when Steve Spielberg was gonna get me all excited again. It looks like I won’t be waiting long as THE premiere director could be getting dropping his hat in the ring for Robopocalypse, an adaptation of Daniel H Wilson epic about the human race’s attempt to survive an apocalyptic robot uprising, reports Deadline. Cloverfield writer Drew Goddard, who also directed MGM’s forthcoming The Cabin in the Woods, is penning the adaption. Wilson hasn’t finished the book yet, but word is Goddard has gotten underway and that it’s a serious candidate. My only question is how do you do this cooler and different than Terminator and Matrix? This is a TALL order if you ask me. I pray that Spielberg abandons The Adventures of Tin Tin: The Secret of the Unicorn; who the hell wants to see that?!
