AvP Galaxy reports that Neville Page will be doing concept art and costume design for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. He’s worked on such films as Cloverfield, Star Trek, Tron: Legacy, Piranha 3D and Avatar, along with the forthcoming Super 8. That’s a pretty slick resume. I’d say we’re in for a treat when Fox releases the quasi-Alien prequel in theaters June 8, 2012.
Two more characters have been cast in Lionsgate’s upcoming big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games. Nelson Ascencio and Kimiko Gelman have been cast as members of Katniss’ prep team, Lionsgate announced Friday to Heat Vision. Ascencio, a former writer on Mad TV and who appeared in Paul, will play Flavius and Gelman, who had an arc on “CSI: Miami,” has landed the part of Venia opposite Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. Filming is currently under way in North Carolina on the anticipated film, which also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci and Lenny Kravitz. Hunger Games, directed by Gary Ross, is slated for a March 23, 2012 release.
Brian Keene, writer of Chiller’s forthcoming Ghoul, took a photo from the set of the pic now in production under the direction of Gregory M. Wilson. He also had this to say: “Here’s me and Nolan Gould (from “Modern Family”) on the set of ‘Ghoul,’” he writes on his site. “I’ve said in interviews that ‘Ghoul’s Timmy is one of my most autobiographical characters. Now Nolan is playing him, and knocking it out of the park. It’s very strange to see someone playing a fictionalized version of yourself as a kid, and I’m deeply honored and humbled by Nolan’s portrayal.” Keene’s novel follows a group of young friends who risk their lives to stop a rash of disappearances in their town.
