TV: ‘Quarantine 2’ Star Gets Computer Savvy for ‘Dexter’

Published

on

“Dexter” is adding yet another TV vet to its Season 6 payroll as the Showtime thriller has tapped Quarantine 2: Terminal‘s Josh Cooke to play the recurring role of “Louis Greene”, a new lab intern at Miami Metro and a buddy of fellow forensics nerd Masuka’s (C.S. Lee).

TV Line reports that an insider describes Cooke’s character as a “computer genius and a bit arrogant about it.

Cooke joins a veritable cavalcade of tube stars on the new season of “Dexter.” As previously reported, “Battlestar Galactica”‘s Edward James Olmos, “Mad Men”‘s Colin Hanks, “Deadwood”‘s Molly Parker, “Off The Map”‘s Aimee Garcia, and “Light’s Out”‘s Billy Brown have landed major recurring arcs.

Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) spent Season Five atoning for the death of his wife, Rita. He committed to being a part of her children’s lives and entered into a deep, passionate relationship with Lumen, unlike anything he’d ever had before. But Dexter’s need to kill overpowers his desire for human connection. And now that one person knows the truth about him, and a few others are close, how much longer will America’s favorite serial killer be able to keep his dark side a secret?

At one point known as ShiverTim Miller‘s (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) next movie doesn’t yet have a title, but star Keanu Reeves offers a very intriguing tease this week.

Chatting with Collider, Reeves explains what drew him to the mysterious upcoming project from director Tim Miller. He tells the outlet, “Sharks. Time machine. Groundhog Day.”

That lines up with early plot details that surfaced earlier this year, with the film said to center on a “smuggler in the middle of a deadly double-cross while on a job in the Caribbean Sea.”

That synopsis continued, “Surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries, and bloodthirsty sharks, the man finds himself in a time loop and scrambling to break the cycle.”

Callie Cooke (“The Stranger”), Stefan Kapičić (Deadpool), Steven Waddington (Sleepy Hollow), Nicholas Duvernay (“The White Lotus”), Abraham Popoola (Cruella), Anastasia Safonov, and Bobby Holland Hanton (Thor: Love and Thunder) also star.

Ian Shorr (SplinterInfinite) penned the screenplay for the sci-fi thriller, which had previously been described as having shades of Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows.

Stay tuned for more on the untitled Warner Bros. project.
