[San Diego Comic-Con ’12] New ‘The Devil’s Carnival’ Clip Stings, Sing YOUR Version & Join The Tour!

Published

on

The Devil’s Carnival – the latest musical from Darren Lynn Bousman (Repo: The Genetic Opera, Saw 2-4, Mother’s Day) is headed back out on the road after a successful 40 date tour earlier this year. It all kicks off at 11:59PM on July 13th during the San Diego Comic-Con at the Gaslamp Theatre (tickets here)! We attended the premiere of the event back in April and you are welcome to read our positive recap.

But before the Devil continues his road show, Bloody Disgusting has landed an exclusive clip that ties into a pretty cool promotion. In this scene, Lucifer (Zdunich) reads the classic fable “The Scorpion and the Frog” as the slick and charming Scorpion (Marc Senter) croons “Trust Me” to his gullible frog gal, Tamara (Jessica Lowndes). Aided by the lovely Painted Doll (Emilie Autumn), The Scorpion uses a knife-thrower’s deadly accuracy to strike love into Tamara’s heart. But once she takes his bait, this Lothario can’t help but reveal his true, venomous nature.

In short, creators Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich want to hear your cover of “Trust Me”, a lethal lullaby from their new musical movie. The most infernally inspired videos will be screened in front of thousands on The Devil’s Carnival 24-City EncoreTour! (Tickets for all shows are available here.)

You’ll find the video with more instructions, along with tour info after the break.

In the film, “sinners are invited to a theme park where they endure the repetition of their transgressions. What chances do a conniving kleptomaniac, a gullible teenager, and an obsessed father stand when facing their own moral failings? Lucifer and his colorful cast of singing carnies invite you to grab a ticket to The Devil’s Carnival to find out!

Terrance Zdunich, who co-wrote Repo!, also wrote the music for Carnival with Saar Hendelman. Zdunich stars alongside Bill Moseley, Briana Evigan, Emilie Autumn, J. Larose, Alexa Vega, Ogre, Paul Sorvino, Marc Senter, Sean Patrick Flanery and Slipknot’s The Clown.

CONTEST INSTRUCTIONS (also included in below imagery)

SPEAK (OR SING) OF THE DEVIL!

The creators of a wicked new film are seeking a few brave singers! Director Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-IV) and writer/actor Terrance Zdunich (REPO! The Genetic Opera) invite you to sing your souls out for THE DEVIL’S CARNIVAL. They want to hear your cover of “Trust Me”, a lethal lullaby from their new musical movie.

Provided here is an instrumental track and lyrics to “Trust Me”. To enter this contest, film your own rendition of this beguiling ballad and submit it as a video response on THE DEVIL’S CARNIVAL Official YouTube Page here. Be sure to include “The Devil’s Carnival Song Contest” in your title and add “The Devil’s Carnival” to your YouTube tags. Submissions must be uploaded no later than 11:59 PM on SATURDAY, JULY 14, 2012.

Like The Scorpion, are you sly enough to make the tadpoles swoon with your song? Are your silky pipes smooth enough to seduce legions with your cover of this devilish ditty? Or will you ditch the karaoke track and record your own band of hand-clapping, finger-snapping, hellishly-harmonizing puppets!

Hell’s favored sons, Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich, are looking to be entertained! Can you stun them with your sinfully sensational voice? Or will you wow them with your wild, wacky, and wicked creative interpretations? In THE DEVIL’S CARNIVAL, all manner of madness is welcome! The most infernally inspired videos will be screened in front of thousands on The Devil’s Carnival EncoreTour! Back by popular demand, the 24-city tour begins July 13th, 2012, at San Deigo’s Comic-Con, and is coming to a theatre near you. For Tickets and info, visit http://www.TheDevilsCarnival.com/.
