Shout! Factory Lands ‘Halloween II’ Inspired Norwegian Slasher ‘Cold Prey II’
Already out for nearly 3 years internationally, Shout! Factory is finally bringing the Norwegian Cold Prey II (read our review) to the States. Anchor Bay released the first film from Roar Uthaug.
Riffing on John Carpenter’s Halloween sequel, the slasher will arrive on home video April 22.
Starring popular international actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters) and directed by Mats Stenberg, Cold Prey II continues the tension from the original smash hit Cold Prey, and delivers spine-tingling suspense and blood-curdling terror sure to appeal to horror fans and world cinema enthusiasts.
“During the winter in 2006 four youth faced a brutal death in the Norwergian mountains of Jotunheimen. Only one woman named survived. Frozen and weak, Jannicke is brought to the local hospital, along with the body of the vicious mountain man whom she’d killed. But when she wakes up in the hospital, the building is dark and deserted…and she soon realizes that her nightmare is not yet over.”
A third film is already released internationally. No word on a U.S. release for that.
One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!
The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones.
