[BD Contest] Meet Our Eighth “Deadite Of The Day” Dennis Carter Jr.!!!

Published

on

Did you miss our initial post on regarding the Deadite Of The Day contest? If not – don’t worry. We’re accepting submissions up until until the end of the day at deadite@bloody-disgusting.com (head inside for the full list of rules)! Winners will be announced daily from March 25th – April 5th (weekends excluded). Submissions will be open the whole time, so if you see something you think you can top… TOP IT!

Today’s winner is Dennis Carter Jr.! He has an amazing, HUGE collection of Evil Dead memorabilia. Much of it official. I’ve included 17 images – but would you believe I had to pare that down? I think I got dozens more! In his own words, “My collection consists of actual movie props, replicas, toys, books, promo items, CD’s, photos, and collectables. Some of the highlights of my collection are:

1: The only surviving movie prop of Ash’s possessed hand from Evil Dead 2. There were two that were made for the stop motion sequences. One was destroyed years ago. This one is the only one that survived. 2: One of the Lost Pages of the necronomicon from Evil Dead 2 showing the Winged Deadite. This one was used during filming and has some of the fake blood used on the actors on it. 3: A production made but unused Winged Deadite head from the Winged Deadite in Evil Dead 2. It was made and painted by one of the people who worked on the film.

I actually have to stop it there and include his full list of “highlights” below the photo gallery iside because it’s so long.
Remember there are still TWO winners left to announce this week – and today is the last day to enter! Head inside to check out Carter’s AMAZING collection!

Here’s the list Dennis provided:

My collection consists of actual movie props, replicas, toys, books, promo items, CD’s, photos, and collectables.

Some of the highlights of my collection are:

The only surviving movie prop of Ash’s possessed hand from Evil Dead 2. There were two that were made for the stop motion sequences. One was destroyed years ago. This one is the only one that survived.

One of the Lost Pages of the necronomicon from Evil Dead 2 showing the Winged Deadite. This one was used during filming and has some of the fake blood used on the actors on it.

A production made but unused Winged Deadite head from the Winged Deadite in Evil Dead 2. It was made and painted by one of the people who worked on the film.

One of the skeleton arms that attacked Ash in the graveyard scene in Army Of Darkness. This one I have appears to be used three times in the scene. It is the one that first pulls his lip, then pulls his nose, then one of the multiple ones that punch him in the face all at once during one scene.

Three Deadite helmets used by the costume deadite actors in the end battle scene in Army Of Darkness.

A full Deadite head that was used on top of one of the deadite rod puppets.

A Deadite mask worn by of the costume deadite actors.

Three miniature tombstones that was used on the miniature cemetery set in Army Of Darkness.

Two pieces of brick from the chimney and two pieces of metal from the roof of the first Evil Dead cabin.

Ian Abercrombie’s broach that he worse as the ‘Wiseman’ in Army Of Darkness.

A production made but unused mini cow skull that was part of Evil Ash’s armor in Army Of Darkness. It would have attached to his right shoulder.

Assorted bones used as set pieces in the cemetery and final battle scenes in Army Of Darkness.

Evil Ash’s horse armor and blanket from Army Of Darkness.

A spear tip from one of the many spears used in Army Of Darkness as set pieces, by deadites, and knights.

A crew jacket owed by one of the crew members in Army Of Darkness.

A complete set of storyboards used on the set of Army Of Darkness.

A full replica of the necronomicon made by Tom Sullivan, the creator of the book for the films.

From Evil Dead: The Musical, a copy of the original script and some sheet music that was later changed when the show went from Canada to New York. The script and sheet music was from one the actual cast members during the original run of the show in 2003.

Also from Evil Dead: The Musical, a face cast of the face of Ryan Ward who played Ash from 2003 to 2008. Included is an unused but production made possessed Ash mask, that the actor would slip over his face when he was possessed by the Evil Dead.
