More Comics Removed From ComiXology on iOS Over Content Issues
With the digital age of comics thriving, there sure have been some issues over the past few months. It began a month ago when Apple asked French comics distributor Izneo to remove over a thousand titles from the app due to content issues. Then began the whole “Saga” fiasco, which turned out to be ComiXology trying to stay in line with Apple’s guidelines. The “Saga” ban was blown out of proportion and eventually the issue in question was put back on the device. However, Bleeding Cool reports that now some other titles have been removed from the iOS app.
The titles removed include “Again Tomorrow”, “Black Kiss II”, “Sex”, “Omaha The Cat Dancer”, “Angry Youth Comix”, “The Story Of O”, and “The Boys: Herogasm”. “Black Kiss II” has run into a few problems over the year, getting banned in parts of the world due to it’s graphic content.
While normally something like this would piss me off, since the internet is freedom after all, these titles are still available on the regular ComiXology store and you can synch your iOS device to get the books on your phone. It may seem like a few more steps, but it’s how I buy my books digitally anyway.
