Scream Factory Announces ‘Witchboard’ and ‘Night of the Demons’ for Blu-ray!

Published

Scream Factory keeps announcing more and more 70’s and 80’s films for Blu-ray in the coming year. Just today they revealed that we’ll be getting a double-dose of Kevin Tenney in 2014.

Says the Facebook page, Director Kevin Tenney’s ouija board hit Witchboard and the “Eat a bowl of F*@K” classic Night of the Demons (which, in particular, has quite a vocal following and has been requested many times here) will both be coming to Blu-ray in early 2014!

No details to report other than Demons will be a “Collector’s Edition” and the artwork is already in the works.

In addition, two made-for-TV horror films (both from 1978) will be coming to DVD for the first time at a low price on December 10, 2013.

“The Initiation of Sarah”, starring Key Lenz (House), Morgan Fairchild (The Seduction), Shelly Winters (The Poseidon Adventure), Morgan Brittany (“Dallas”), Robert Hays (Airplane!) and Tisa Farrow (Zombie).

“Are You in the House Alone?, starring Kathleen Beller (“Dynasty”), Blythe Danner (Meet the Parents), Ellen Travolta (Human Experiments) and Dennis Quaid (Jaws 3-D).

As they mentioned earlier at Comic-Con, made-for-TV films typically have had a history of not selling well (aside from some notable exceptions out there that have huge fan bases) so they are testing the waters to see what happens. If this performs well, they would love to tap into some other great televised favorites and bring to you a “Volume 2” in the future.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
