The 10 Greatest Horror Games Of This Generation!

I love this game. After the dozens of articles I wrote about Telltale’s The Walking Dead last year, I feel like there isn’t much more I can say about it. I yelled, I laughed, I cried, and video games don’t often affect me in that third way. Telltale’s episodic series is right up there with the storytelling greats and, in some ways, Telltale’s effort managed to surpass the critically acclaimed comic that inspired it. Its second season really cannot come soon enough.

Now, this isn’t a definitive list of the best games. I’ll be following this up with a list of the greatest indie horror games, because there are a lot of those to cover too. As far as blockbusters go, there are a few I wanted to include but wasn’t able to, because I feel the above ten have more than earned their spots.

So an honorable mention goes out to Resident Evil 5, which despite its more action-oriented approach is still a fantastic co-op game (I hate that there isn’t a Resident Evil on this list) and Siren: Blood Curse gets one too, because it’s one of the scariest games ever.

What about you? What are your picks for the ten greatest horror games of this generation? Feel free to share them in the comments! Our horror retrospective doesn’t end here — we’ve also listed the ten best indie horror games and this generation’s 10 biggest disappointments!
