‘Apollo 18’ Director Finds Demonic ‘Sanctuary’

Atlas Independent, the affiliate company of Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment, will produce Sanctuary, which will be directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego (Apollo 18, Open Grave), from a script written by Ryne Douglas Pearson (Knowing), Bloody Disgusting has learned.

“Sanctuary follows three documentarians who travel to South America to investigate a town which mysteriously disappeared from the map. The trio are led to the ultimate enigma after a series of misfortunate occurrences: an immense concrete structure located in the middle of the missing town, with no entrances or exits.

William Green and Aaron Ginsburg will produce for Atlas Independent. Atlas Entertainment’s Richard Suckle, Unbroken Pictures’ Bryan Bertino (The Strangers) and Adrienne Biddle will executive produce. Highland Film Group (HFG) will handle worldwide sales and will introduce the film to international buyers at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.

New Line’s ‘Companion’ from ‘Barbarian’ Team Releasing in 2025

From New Line Cinema and producer Zach Cregger (Director: Barbarian) comes the upcoming sci-fi/horror movie Companion, which has been dated for theatrical release.

Companion will be released into theaters on January 10, 2025.

Companion has been rated “R” by the MPA for…

“Strong violence, sexual content, and language throughout.”

The film’s cast includes Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets,” The Boogeyman) alongside Rupert Friend (Separation), Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”), Lukas Gage (“You”), Megan Suri (It Lives Inside), and Jack Quaid (Scream, “The Boys”).

Described as a sci-fi/horror movie, Companion will mark the directorial debut of Drew Hancock, who also wrote the script. At this time, plot details are under wraps.
