If you’ve spent really any time with the Quake series, you’re undoubtedly already pretty familiar with just how shitty the Strogg are. For the uninitiated, they’re a race of alien cyborgs whose hobbies include being hideous to look at and capturing organic material (like humans) so they can slowly and painfully turn them into one of their own through a grotesque, conveyer belt-like surgical process called Stroggification. They’re the Borg of video games, only way less cool.

I came closer to missing this guy than I’d care to admit. The important thing is, the Twitcher is here, and I can’t get him to stand still.
What happens when the Necromorph infection finds a corpse that’s equipped with a Stasis module? The module’s time-slowing powers are reversed, giving an already extremely dangerous creature the ability to move way faster than it ever should. I hate everything about these guys, from how difficult it can be to take them out to the way they’re constantly spazzing out. They’re often unpredictable — a lovely trait shared by many of the enemies in Dead Space — only its siblings don’t have the ability to basically teleport in front of me while I’m managing my inventory.
This hastily assembled category is proof that this list could have been so much longer. I had a list that was way too long, and just when I was about to throw in the towel on narrowing it down, I realized half of these characters double as cyborgs and ninjas. We have Yaiba (Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z), Raiden (Metal Gear), and a startling number of the cast of Mortal Kombat. Sektor, Cyrax, Smoke, Sub-Zero… that series has offered its fair share of characters who double majored in a degree of Badassdom.
I guess I should explain this one too, huh? Well, they’re cyborgs and they’re ninjas. Did you need more than that?
