I had a lot of fun with Unidentified when I saw it last year at the Downtown Independent. It has a strong comedic component that actually works. A lot of times indie horror takes itself so seriously that when attempts at humor are made, they seem utterly alien. Here that stuff actually lands. Maybe it helps that I’m one of those people who actually likes Vegas? Anyway, it arrives on Digital Download and DVD from MPI/Dark Sky Films tomorrow February 11, 2014 and I want to share the fun with you.
Directed by Jason R. Miller (co-producer and second-unit director of the hit horror films Hatchet 2 and Frozen), the film stars Parry Shen (the Hatchet franchise, Better Luck Tomorrow), Colton Dunn (Key and Peele), Eddie Mui (Call Back) and Eric Artell (Pair of Kings).
We’ve got an exclusive special feature from the film’s DVD for you, which features the guys getting some footage off of the first ever GoPro camera sent into space. Odeya Rush (Goosebumps) fights her way through an eclectic cast that includes Sasha Lane (Twisters), Elias Kacavas (“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”), Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Zión Moreno (“Gossip Girl”), Benjamin Norris (“Never Have I Ever”), Tyler Alvarez (“American Vandal”), Kirby Johnson (The Possession of Hannah Grace), Ellen Toland, Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction), and Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off).
Aaron Fisher (Inside the Rain) directs from a script he co-wrote with Kerri Lee Romeo. Uri Singer (White Noise, Experimenter) produces via Passage Pictures.
Gary J. Tunnicliffe (Scream 4, Candyman) handled the film’s special makeup effects.
