Catch ‘Midnight Syndicate Live!’ At Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends
Midnight Syndicate, the composing duo of Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka who are responsible for some of the most widely used Halloween CDs, have announced that they will be premiering a horror-themed multimedia concert entitled Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows at amusement park Cedar Point during their 18th annual HalloWeekends event.
Douglas comments, “HalloWeekends is the perfect place to launch the first Midnight Syndicate Live! experience. The venue is awesome and will allow us to fully realize the exciting, one-of-a-kind show we envision. We’re also really psyched to be working with a legendary amusement park that Gavin (Goszka) and I both grew up in.”
Cedar Point Corporate VP of Enterainment Charles Bradshaw adds, “Working with these industry leading music producers on a live show is an exciting prospect. The final product is going to amaze.”
There are also some big names in horror attached to this project, including Robert Kurtzman (From Dusk Til Dawn), Gary Jones (Boogeyman, Axe Giant), Beki Ingram (Faceoff), and more.
I’m definitely going to attend as I’m only a few hours from Cedar Point and it’s always a good time there!
Seminal slasher Scream rewrote the rules in 1996, and for its 30th anniversary, Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings are celebrating with a new anniversary reissue of Marco Beltrami’s landmark score.
The original 14-track album returns to vinyl in a collectible “blood-soaked” sleeve on August 28.
If blood red isn’t your color, there’s good news: the reissue will also be available in many different limited-edition exclusive pressings.

Marco Beltrami composed the iconic score as a then young, up-and-coming composer—one who, ironically, had never scored or even seen a horror film.
Yet just three years after he completed the University of Southern California’s rigorous scoring program, Beltrami submitted 13 minutes of music for Scream’s opening sequence and his future was forever changed. “We knew in half a minute that we had found our composer,” Craven told Variety in 2012. “The music was haunting, beautiful and totally original. Marco turned out to be shy and soft-spoken, but a fountain of ideas and innovation. I never looked back.”
