‘Metro’ Series Coming To Next-Gen In ‘Metro Redux’
After a leak teased it, Deep Silver has confirmed in a letter to their fans that Metro Redux is indeed a real thing, they’re just not ready to share details about it with us yet. They promise we’ll know more about developer 4A Games’ first next-gen project by E3 in June, so that leaves us with only a few months to wonder what it could be. It could be a bundle of remastered ports of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, or it could be something a little more exciting. Their letter hints at it being more of the latter.
“Is Metro Redux real? Yes. We never made any secret of 4A’s desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware,” the company wrote. However, it sounds as if the real thing is significantly more exciting than a couple of remastered games.
“We think the reality is a lot more exciting than the outdated material that got leaked shows, and we’re itching to share it with you. Just not yet,” the company added.
So Deep Silver isn’t ready to show us what 4A is working on. I’m all right with that. What would you like it to be?

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
