Commercially Available Hoverbike Coming in 2017
When I die, I want the tale of my death to sound something like this: “Oh, didn’t you hear? Adam died. He was crushed by his 800 lb hoverbike. He broke every bone in his body, but I heard the coroner say he still had a childlike grin on his face,” to which the other person would reply, saying “Oh yeah? I heard he stopped by Taco Bell first, because they had to use the Jaws of Life to pry the caramel apple empanada from his cold, dead hand.”
If there’s a better way to go out than that, I’m not creative enough to come up with it.
California-based Aerofex is bringing me one step closer to my dream with the Aero-X hoverbike, which they plan to have commercially available in 2017. The price tag will be a hefty one — $85,000 — but that’s paltry when you think of its application. I mean, can you really put a price tag on gliding into a Taco Bell drive-through on a hoverbike?
The answer is no, you can’t.
As for what this beautiful piece of technology is capable of, the Aero-X can carry two people, reach speeds of up to 42 mph (okay, not bad), and it’s hovering height can take you ten feet closer to the sun.
If you have cash to spare, they’re currently accepting refundable $5,000 deposits on their website.
Epic’s Fortnite is heading for another crossover, this time with Universal Orlando and Halloween Horror Nights. The title’s annual Fortnitemares Halloween event will be coming to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort in a new scare zone, kicking off on August 28.
For those not in the know, Scare zones are themed, open-air areas where guests and actors roam around freely.
This is the first time Fortnite will be featured during the after-hours event, which will run from August 28 until November 1. Tickets and packages are on sale now at the official site.
Per the press release, guests will enter Freaky Fields, a Halloween-inspired living battleground that’s been “overcome with a threatening force.” From there, fans will meet up with the Battle Bus, featuring familiar Fortnitemares characters, including “a few new additions exclusive to Halloween Horror Nights.”
And of course, there will be Fortnitemares merchandise available for fans, including a graphic t-shirt, decal set, and an acrylic collectible piece.
Fortnitemares won’t be the only featured property at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Killer Klowns from Outer Space will also be getting its own scare zone. Sinners, Stranger Things, Hellraiser, and Evil Dead Burn will also be part of the event, though they will be relegated to their own specific houses.
And while it’s early yet, gamers can probably expect Fortnitemares to return to Fortnite this October.
