Full Details On Sci-Fi Mystery “Roche Limit”
Hype runs high for Michael Moreci and Vic Malhotra’s new Image Comics hardboiled sci-fi series, “Roche Limit”. From the teaser art it’s clear the book is rooted in classic sci-fi, “blending 2001: A Space Odyssey with Blade Runner”, which are two of my favorite films of all time. That’s a godly combination that will be tough to pull off, and I am eager to see if they can do it. Check out the skinny on the series below.

Michael Moreci (HACK/SLASH: SON OF SAMHAIN, HOAX HUNTERS) teams up with Vic Malhotra (X-Files: Year Zero, Thumbprint) to bring readers an all-new science-fiction crime mystery series. Blending 2001: A Space Odyssey with Blade Runner, ROCHE LIMIT is slated for release in September by Image Comics.
Billionaire Langford Skaargard’s dream of cosmic exploration is no more and Roche Limit, a colony situated on the cusp of a mysterious energy anomaly, has become a melting pot of crime and terrible secrets. When Bekkah Hudson goes missing, the search to find her will plunge her sister and a cadre of the colony’s underworld figures into an odyssey that reveals a grim future for mankind.
“This is a book I feel like I was meant to write,” said Moreci. “If you like great sci-fi, and if you love a good mystery, you cannot miss Roche Limit.”
A mix of hardboiled noir crime and hard science fiction, ROCHE LIMIT is the beginning of a gritty and bold new science fiction noir series that has something for every reader. The first issue of ROCHE LIMIT arrives in stores this September and will be available for $3.50. It can be pre-ordered using Diamond Code JUL140435.

IDW Dark and Paramount Announce New ‘Smile’ and ‘A Quiet Place’ Comic Book Tales
IDW Dark and Paramount recently joined forces to launch limited comic book tales set in the worlds of Smile and A Quiet Place, and we’ve learned today that they’ll continue hanging around in those franchise universes with two brand new limited series tales.
Entertainment Weekly has exclusively revealed this afternoon that IDW Dark’s Any Given Smile debuts in September, while A Quiet Place: Rising Tides arrives in November.
First up, from writer Stephanie Williams and artist Pablo Collar, Any Given Smile puts a football-themed twist on Parker Finn’s successful Smile movie franchise.
The five-part limited series is “set in January 1995, during the American Arena League football championship game in St. Augustine, Florida. The rising superstar of the Sharks, backup quarterback Dupree, is feeling the pressure from his teammates, the fans, and also the city’s gambling underworld, to whom he owes a considerable debt. Meanwhile, a sports journalist investigates a string of suicides that may be connected to the big game. At the very least, they are connected to a sinister entity that preys on the minds of its victims.”
From writer Declan Shalvey and artist Luke Sparrow, A Quiet Place: Rising Tides will also be a five-issue limited story. The comic book tale “brings the creatures to the Florida Keys, where a father-daughter duo attempt to survive on water in a houseboat.”
EW further details, “This tense family reunion coincides with the arrival of the vicious creatures that hunt through sound. Grace and her dad find safety on the open ocean, but she’ll have to make landfall sooner or later; the father’s oxygen tank and their supplies are running low, while a hurricane swiftly approaches.”
