[TV] First “Scream” Casting News Also Reveals Major Spoiler!

Some major news hit Up and Comers, who reports that casting is complete on MTV’s “Scream” series, based on the franchise created by Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson.

John Karna, Carlson Young (pictured in “True Blood”) and model Amadeus Serafini are among the top choices to lead MTV’s series pilot, says the site who also adds that “at least one of these characters — who may be played by Karna, Young and Sarafini — will not survive to see the end of the first season.

“Ravenswood’s” Jill Blotevogel penned the pilot that is said to center on a YouTube viral video gone wrong, which leads to adverse repercussions for teenager Audrey Jesen and will also serve as the “catalyst for a murder and opens up a window to the town’s troubled past.

The role of Audrey has not yet been cast, they clarify.

Young is said to be MTV’s top pick to play the role of Brooke Maddox, a 16-year-old who is described as “the high gloss queen bee who thinks she’s nice and the world’s just reading her wrong, capable of being bubbly and seemingly-genuine and also capable of being ferociously sexy.”

As for Karna and Sarafini, the roles they’re up for are not yet known. But by narrowing it down, it’s fair to predict which of the following male series regulars they could be playing: Noah Foster, a “creative, brilliant and tech-savvy” friend of Audrey’s; Will Belmont, a “tall, very attractive” basketball player; and Kiernan Wilcox, a smart and new student at school who is “more mature than his peers.”

What do you guys expect from the “Scream” series? Are you fans of “Teen Wolf”? Should it be similar in tone?
