Dracula isn’t going to die anytime soon as FX’s Guillermo del Toro-produced “The Strain” has been renewed for a second season.
Global News has learned the series will be back in production in Toronto in mid-November.
The sci-fi series about a team of scientists trying to stop an ancient threat to humanity debuted in mid-July and has seen its audience grow slightly from week to week.
Says the site, production of the first 13-episode season took place in Toronto from September 2013 to late April.
The series was created by Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim) and novelist Chuck Hogan, based on the pair’s book trilogy.
“The Strain” stars Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro, Sean Astin, David Bradley and several Canadian actors including Kevin Durand and Natalie Brown.
