Round Five: Leading Characters
Whilst Silent Hill has unraveled the haunting, complex stories of James Sunderland, Walter Sullivan and Alex Shepherd to name but three – stories that even today are picked apart and analysed by the fandom so minute is the detail – it’s Resident Evil that has, undoubtedly, provided us with the more likeable leading characters.
As much as I love Silent Hill 3’s Heather Morris, as a collective I think we have to give this round to Resident Evil. From Barry Burton to Albert Wesker, from Jill Valentine to Leon Kennedy – RE consistently delivers characters that we love … or just love to hate!
(Plus Silent Hill gave us Henry. Remember him? EXACTLY. It’s kind of hard to forgive it for that.)
