One of my most anticipated movies ever was when Universal Pictures had Gore Verbinski (The Ring, Pirates of the Caribbean) attached to direct the BioShock video game adaptation.
After sinking due to budget and rating concerns, the project will always be referenced in the “what if?” category of film history.
Thanks to the online portfolio of illustrator Kasra Farahani, we have a look inside what Verbinski has envisioned for Rapture. Farahani worked on films such as Thor and Star Trek Into Darkness, two films that have way too much CGI for atmosphere and not enough real locations. BioShock was headed in the wrong direction, so it seems.
