[EXCLUSIVE] Kane Hodder Joins 80’s Slasher Game ‘Summer Camp’
Gun Media has revealed the man behind the mask in their upcoming 80’s themed slasher game Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp, and it’s a name that fans of the Friday the 13th films should easily recognize. Kane Hodder — Jason Voorhees himself — will be donning a different mask in this game, but his duty will be the same: kill, kill kill.
“Honestly, who else could we have chosen for the role of the killer?” explains Wes Keltner, co-creator of Summer Camp. “Several people have worn the mask, but in our eyes, there was only one. Kane has the body type, the presence and demeanor that personify the unrelenting, undying killing force we’re after for Summer Camp.”
With Kane Hodder and FX legend Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead, From Dusk till Dawn) involved, I don’t understand why the world hasn’t exploded already.
“Everyone has their own skills. One of mine happens to be killing people on screen. When Wes and the team behind Summer Camp came to me, I jumped at the chance to bring my skills to gamers around the world. Combined with the fact that Savini is on board and Manfredini is doing the soundtrack? This is a no-brainer.”
Hodder gets it.
Summer Camp is one of a handful of upcoming horror games we have to look forward to in what looks like a slasher game renaissance.
It’s getting a little confusing though, with the similarly titled Splatter Camp, the recent announcement of a Friday the 13th video game, and the issues it’s had with Last Year.
This isn’t the kind of mess that slasher fans have come to expect from the genre, but if we can get a few great horror games out of all this, it’ll be worth it. With everything it has going for it, Summer Camp isn’t likely to disappoint.

‘Home Bodies’ Image & Poster Introduce Isolated Twins in Sci-Fi Nightmare [Fantasia 2026]
Sci-fi thriller Home Bodies is set to unsettle audiences at the 30th edition of Fantasia, and our exclusive image introduces a peculiar pair of twins at the center.
Home Bodies makes its World Premiere July 23, at 9:30 PM at Cinéma du Musée in Montreal, with the filmmakers and cast in attendance.
An eerie new poster created by Justin Erickson of Phantom City Creative heralds the film’s premiere.
In the film, “Red and Blue, twins raised in total isolation by an automated house, live according to the rules set by Papa, a disembodied voice behind a locked door who provides food, shelter, entertainment, and order. Their carefully controlled world is disrupted by the arrival of Pal, an enigmatic humanoid stranger whose presence begins to fracture the only life the twins have ever known.”
It’s a premise that calls another Canadian creeper to mind and has us intrigued: Pin.

Home Bodies is directed and produced by Casey Walker, who returns to Fantasia more than a decade after his horror-comedy A Little Bit Zombie screened at the festival in 2012. He’s since gone on to produce a number of defining Canadian genre films like In a Violent Nature, The Void, and Pyewacket.
“I started my career in Montreal and Fantasia has been part of my life ever since,” said Walker. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to return to where it all started and share Home Bodies on such a special anniversary of the festival.“
Karen Harnisch (Infinity Pool, Sleeping Giant) also produces. Executive producers are Todd Brown (The Raid, Mandy) and Chad Archibald (undertone).
