Ridley Scott’s Son Directs Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Morgan’

“House of Cards” star Kate Mara is attached to star in Morgan, a sci-fi thriller just set up at Fox with Luke Scott, the son of filmmaker Ridley Scott, on board to make his feature directorial debut, reports THR.

Anya Taylor-Joy, who made a breakthrough performance with a starring turn in the Sundance horror movie The Witch, pictured, is in final negotiations to star opposite Mara.

The story centers tells of a corporate risk management consultant who is summoned to a remote research lab to determine whether or not to terminate an at-risk artificial being.

Ridley Scott is producing with his Scott Free mates Michael Schaefer and Elishia Holmes, the latter of which developed the prokect in-house with writer Seth Owens and Luke Scott before setting it up at Fox. George Heller will exec produce.

Owens wrote the script, which was on the 2014 Black List, the annual list of best unproduced screenplays.
