Mick Taylor Will Return In a Third ‘Wolf Creek’!

Wolf Creek 2

Image Entertainment’s Wolf Creek 2 was awesome. In fact, I like it way better than its Sundance Film Festival predecessor (here’s my review).

While the franchise isn’t a big deal here in the States, it’s quite successful in its home country of Australia.

So, when word came out that a third film was in the works, I wasn’t the least bit surprised. Still, I’m beyond elated.

Manly Movies caught up with John Jarratt, who plays the Freddy Krueger-esque Mick Taylor in Greg McLean’s Wolf Creek films. When asked about a third film, Jarratt had this to say: “It’s being developed, should shoot it next year. Great plot, secret of course.

In the 2005 Wolf Creek, stranded backpackers in remote Australia fall prey to a murderous bushman (played by Jarratt) who offers to fix their car, then takes them captive. The outback once more becomes a place of horrorin the 2013 sequel as another unwitting tourist becomes the prey for crazed, serial-killing pig-hunter Mick Taylor.

The sequel went for a more comedic and fun spin, so it’ll be interesting to see where McLean takes Taylor in the third.

insidious 5 trailer

In the wake of last year’s box office hit Insidious: The Red Door, Sony has announced tonight that the next installment in the Insidious franchise has been dated for 2025 release.

You can expect the untitled next movie in theaters August 29, 2025.

Deadline notes in their report tonight that this particular project is NOT the previously announced spinoff movie Thread: An Insidious Tale, which doesn’t yet have a release date.

Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani will star in Thread: An Insidious Tale.

Director James Wan’s original Insidious movie in 2011 was followed by Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015), Insidious: The Last Key (2018), and last year’s Insidious: The Red Door, which became the highest grossing movie in the entire franchise thus far.

Needless to say, this franchise still has a lot of life left in it. Stay tuned for more.
