‘Amityville’ Won’t Haunt Until 2016

Amityville: The Reawakening

After being pulled from the calendar in December, we now have a new release date for the officially titled Amityville: The Awakening (formerly Amityville: The Reawakening), which hails from P2 and Maniac director Franck Khalfoun.

While originally slated for this past January through Dimension, it looks as if we’re going to be waiting a really long time for the new Amityville.

Amityville: The Awakening is dated for April 15th, 2016, almost a year from now.

Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Thorne, McKenna Grace, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler, Thomas Mann and Jennifer Morrison star.

In Amityville: The Awakening, “Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.

It was originally set for release this past January before being pulled for additional photography.

It has now been rated “R” for strong horror violence and for language.
