Batman, Red Hulk and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Sequel!
There was a superhero explosion yesterday, and until we can get a full time editor (anyone interested, hit up Jon Barkan), I’m going to round out some of the major developments.
First, a major spoiler warning, for those who don’t want to know anything going forward.
Now, let’s begin with Batman.
Heroic Hollywood has the scoop on the Caped Crusader’s appearance in Suicide Squad.
Explains the site, Batman will break into Amanda Waller’s security prison, and is “already inside her office waiting in the shadows.”
“You see, Batman is totally against the concept behind the Suicide Squad, in fact he warns Waller that he will hold her personally responsible for any innocents The Joker & the rest of the Suicide Squad kill. A warning so stern that he has to visit Waller personally to deliver the message.”
The site also teases a Bruce Wayne scene that they’re currently investigating. They may need to call Batman in to help.

In other news, Bleeding Cool is developing theory that a new Hulk may be making an appearance in Civil War.
Could we finally see the Red Hulk on screen?! Explains the site:
Since Avengers: Age Of Ultron ended with Bruce Banner flying off to be alone… it would take something might powerful to pull him back. And the rumor says that what gets him to return is the Red Hulk. Now in the comics, the Red Hulk is General Thunderbolt Ross… and it just so happens that William Hurt will be reprising his role as Ross in the film. And there is supposed to be a fight between the two Hulks to rival the fight between Hulk and Hulkbuster Iron Man.
Via Wiki: General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross (alias Red Hulk) is a fictional supervillain and anti-hero and one of the arch-enemies of the Hulk, who appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Ross is a United States military officer, the father of Betty Ross, ex-father in-law of Glenn Talbot, father in-law of Dr. Bruce Banner, and was head of the Gamma Bomb Project that turned Banner into the Hulk. After the creation of the Hulk, Ross pursues the creature with a growing obsession, and after learning that Banner and the Hulk are one and the same, Ross hunts Banner as well. In 2008, Ross was transformed into the Red Hulk in order to better combat his nemesis.
Lastly, James Gunn has revealed he’s completed his first pass at the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy, which means we’re well on the way to seeing Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Groot return to theaters on May 5, 2017!

IDW Dark and Paramount Announce New ‘Smile’ and ‘A Quiet Place’ Comic Book Tales
IDW Dark and Paramount recently joined forces to launch limited comic book tales set in the worlds of Smile and A Quiet Place, and we’ve learned today that they’ll continue hanging around in those franchise universes with two brand new limited series tales.
Entertainment Weekly has exclusively revealed this afternoon that IDW Dark’s Any Given Smile debuts in September, while A Quiet Place: Rising Tides arrives in November.
First up, from writer Stephanie Williams and artist Pablo Collar, Any Given Smile puts a football-themed twist on Parker Finn’s successful Smile movie franchise.
The five-part limited series is “set in January 1995, during the American Arena League football championship game in St. Augustine, Florida. The rising superstar of the Sharks, backup quarterback Dupree, is feeling the pressure from his teammates, the fans, and also the city’s gambling underworld, to whom he owes a considerable debt. Meanwhile, a sports journalist investigates a string of suicides that may be connected to the big game. At the very least, they are connected to a sinister entity that preys on the minds of its victims.”
From writer Declan Shalvey and artist Luke Sparrow, A Quiet Place: Rising Tides will also be a five-issue limited story. The comic book tale “brings the creatures to the Florida Keys, where a father-daughter duo attempt to survive on water in a houseboat.”
EW further details, “This tense family reunion coincides with the arrival of the vicious creatures that hunt through sound. Grace and her dad find safety on the open ocean, but she’ll have to make landfall sooner or later; the father’s oxygen tank and their supplies are running low, while a hurricane swiftly approaches.”
