One of the grandaddies of survival horror returns next week with the arrival of Alone in the Dark: Illumination. This will be the first game in the series to eschew a traditional single-player campaign for one that’s been built from the ground up to also support co-op. Much like in Left 4 Dead, teams of up to four players must use the powers of light, and lots of guns, to against nightmarish creatures in order to exorcise an ancient evil that’s taken up residence in the town of Lorwich.
An announcement on the game’s Steam page has finally illuminated — ugh, sorry — a release date of Tuesday, June 9. This means time has just about run out for those of you who wanted the pre-order bonuses that come with the $29.99 Eldritch Edition.
