From the opening moments of Machinima’s “Justice League Gods and Monsters” you might be quick to shrug it off as something closer to Batman The Animated Series. That would be an injustice. It only takes a few moments for the realization to set in that this is a very different world than the animated DC Universe we’re used to.
Gods and Monsters is an alternative universe that showcases a very different set of heroes than we’re used to. Things are much darker, and closer to horror than we’ve ever seen. My jaw hit the floor at a certain point in this short animation that shows promise for the future unlike anything DC has released in the animation world in a long time.
