Very sad news as Variety is reporting that actress Mary Ellen Trainor has passed away at her home in Montecito, CA. She was 62 years old.
Trainor was a major actress in the 80’s, appearing in all four Lethal Weapon films. But she was known to us horror fans for her roles in The Goonies, Monster Squad, Ghostbusters II, Tales From The Crypt, and Death Becomes Her.
She was married for a while to director Robert Zemeckis and was a generous philanthropist, donating to causes ranging from cancer research, disaster relief, clean water groups, and furthering education.
She is survived by her siblings, mother, and son.
