Director Paul Feig has taken to Twitter to announce that actor Chris Hemsworth has joined the cast of the upcoming Ghostbusters film, apparently in the role of the receptionist for the supernatural fighting foursome. He joins Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, who will be the protagonists of the film.
According to Variety, Hemsworth was wanted for a role in the film from early stages. However, the initial part they had in mind was too small, according to the star. Since then, the script has been reworked and the part made more substantial.
Feig is directing the film based of a script written by him and Kate Dippold. Ivan Reitman is producing the film.
The film’s expected release date is July 22, 2016.
