The news that Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World was huge is boring, so we’ve injected some life into this post with the following memes, one of which had me laughing to tears. The idea that pods transport guests through the new park is a great one, until you hit a land-mine of dinosaur shit.
But that’s just the icing on the cake. The single best Jurassic World meme was a blast at the overuse of CGI in the Jurassic Park sequel. Check out this hysterical parody that inserts CGI into the entire trailer, including a shot of Velociraptors riding motorcycles alongside Chris Pratt’s character!
As for box office, nobody expected Jurassic World to open as massive as it did. Box Office Mojo explains that it opened with a reported $204.6M, the 2nd biggest of all time.
Also stunning is the $307.2M the film made overseas for a cumulative $511.8M worldwide opening, which is the highest global bow in history, and not by some slim margin, explains the site. It is the first time a film has ever grossed more than $500 million in one weekend.
