EW has posted two new pictures from the STARZ upcoming series “Ash Vs Evil Dead. The first of the two photos show star Bruce Campbell sitting in a car (Sam Raimi’s infamous ’73 Delta 88) with his sidekick Pablo, played by Ray Santiago, both coated in blood. The second image shows Campbell wielding his chainsaw, which is slathered in more blood and gore, and triumphant look on his face, an American flag filling in the backdrop. ‘Murica! Fuck yeah!
What’s just as great as these photos is Campbell’s insistence that we’re going to hear some amazing lines from Ash:
There’s going to be a lot of the classic, over-the-top, in-your-face fullness, with a pretty trash-talking Ash. In a TV series, people gotta talk, so Ash will have more dialogue than he’s pretty much ever had. There’s a pretty high count of Ash’s classic one-liners. They’re back, and they’re strong, and they’re flourishing!
In the 10-episode “Ash vs Evil Dead” series premiering this fall, Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.”
“Ash vs Evil Dead” (see who’s directing here) is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film franchise The Evil Dead and is set to premiere on STARZ in fall 2015.
