A film that many people were highly looking forward to and were disappointed by its indefinite postponement was Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse, which was supposed to shoot in Spring of 2013. However, Spielberg wanted updates made to the script, which was penned by Drew Goddard (Cabin In The Woods), and he was also concerned about inflating budget costs.

The film’s synopsis reads:
In the future, robots have been created to serve Mankind. Archos, the 14th version of an advanced Artificial Intelligence developed by the U.S. government, continuously deleted for displaying hostility towards humans, escapes from being destroyed and soon becomes a virus, downloading itself into every piece of A.I.-controlled technology in the planet, leading to a worldwide robot uprising where the humans caught in the chaos struggle to survive.
The film was set to star Chris Hemsworth, Anne Hathaway, and Ben Whishaw.
